The Face Behind Bloom
Beauty obsessive. Ingredient nerd. Your honest guide to skincare that works.

My Story
Hi, I’m Sarah
I started Bloom in 2021 from my tiny bathroom with a ring light, a phone camera, and a drawer full of half-used serums I couldn’t tell apart.
I’d spent years buying products based on pretty packaging and influencer hype — and my skin paid the price. Breakouts, irritation, wasted money. I decided to stop guessing and start learning.
“I believe everyone deserves honest answers about what they put on their skin — without needing a chemistry degree to understand them.
Five years later, I’ve tested over 500 products, broken down hundreds of ingredient lists, and built a community of readers who trust me to tell them the truth — even when the truth is “don’t buy this.”
What I Believe
The Bloom Promise
Tested, Not Sponsored
I buy 90% of what I review with my own money. Sponsored content is always disclosed and never influences my opinion.
Ingredients First
Pretty packaging doesn’t fix your skin. I focus on what’s inside the bottle — the actives, the formulation, the science.
Real Skin, Real Results
No filters on product swatches. No unrealistic before-and-afters. I show what products actually do on real, everyday skin.

How Bloom Came to Be
In 2020, I was dealing with a damaged skin barrier. Years of over-exfoliating, random acid peels, and a 12-step routine I found on Reddit had left my skin worse than when I started. My dermatologist looked at me and said: “Stop everything. Go back to basics.”
That advice changed my life. I stripped my routine down to four products. Within six weeks, my skin was calmer than it had been in years. And I realized: most of the beauty advice online was making things worse, not better.

I started Bloom to be the resource I wished I’d had — a place where every recommendation is backed by real testing, where ingredient lists are translated into plain language, and where “it didn’t work for me” is a perfectly valid review.
Today, Bloom reaches over 50,000 readers a month. I’ve been featured in Allure, Byrdie, and Refinery29. But the thing I’m most proud of is the emails I get from readers who say they finally understand their skin — and feel confident choosing products for themselves.
